THN.com Blog: Nash set to explode into superstar status

    BY: Ryan Kennedy

What makes a player worthy of being deemed a first-class NHL star? For goalies and defensemen, numbers don’t always tell the story. Grant Fuhr, for example, never had a great goals-against average, but he stopped the right pucks at the right time and has the wins and Stanley Cups to back up his Hall of Fame clout.

But star forwards need to put up numbers. Even the best two-way players – Detroit’s Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg tend to roll off the tongue quickly – can put up 90-plus points in a season.

Couldn't agree more. Columbus is a rising team..... and the casual fans are suddenly going to take more notice of Nash. He's been one of the best in the NHL for a while now... just stuck on a team that people ignored. This season he should finally get some of the attention that he's deserved for a while now.

I was surprised to read that he'd never had an 80 point season, but I think it's going to be a few years before he has another sub-80 point one. Like the article alluded to.... he's finally got some good offensive talent around him. Sky is the limit for his potential in the next few years.
