Hobby boxes vs. Retail boxes vs. Booster boxes
Ok, I'm just getting back into hockey cards after over a decade of being out of it. Now I'm an adult able to buy full boxes.
I've heard that retail boxes (the ones I'd find at Walmart) don't have nearly as many autos and gu's compared to hobby boxes. Is that the case?
Also, what about booster boxes. I bought a retail box of 24 MVP packs, and got no GU's, but I've bought 3 booster boxes of 12 MVP packs and gotten 2 GUs.
Sorry for the newb question

You are right. Hobby boxes have a set quantity of autos/GU/Inserts in each box..sometimes you get more sometimes you get shorted a card. You also have the chance to pull the more limited cards of the set. You never know what you get with retail or blasters (blasters are really retail).
The only blaster I consider ok is Upper Deck for the Young Guns. I've pulled a Malkin and Price YG's out of them.
