What a shame
You remember those Croby / Ovechkin showdown cards that UD was giving away like candy. Some poor sap just bought one on eBay for $51 bucks!
Not the buyer's fault because the seller had it listed as "only 10 exist!"
He wrote: "YOU ARE BIBBING ON AN 05/06UPPERDECK HOLGRAM GLOSSY OF CROSY OVECHKIN ROOKIE SHOWDOWN. THIS CARD IS A SHORT PRINT TOO 10 AND IS NOT PRICED IN THE BECKETT" (emphasis added)
Here's the listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/05-06-UD-HOLOGRAM-CROSBY-OVECHKIN-ONLY-10-EXIST_W0QQitemZ260461964706QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_S M_Sports_Cards?hash=item3ca4be2da2&_trksid=p3286.c 0.m14
I'm sure glad I didn't "bib" on that card!
Yet, I wish there was a way the buyer could get his money back because this card was clearly mis-represented as something it is not.Last edited by Drewk86a; 08-29-2009 at 04:36 PM.

That really is a crime that it was so misrepresented, and also a shame the buyer did not research it a bit. I always find similar listings to compare to, look up the card, etc. before bidding (or buying) any card.
I have seen other cases where a seller is misrepresenting how rare a card is or how valuable. I've also seen some buy it now prices that are an obsurd 4 times Hi BV for a card that is not all that great (saw a card that was worth like 60 listed for about 250 once!!).

UPDATE: The seller says that his son posted the card and that he did not verify it for accuracy. He says he apologized to the buyer and has has returned the buyers money.
Just have his word for that, but based on his positive feedback, it's a good possibility. Shows the danger of allowing someone else to use your eBay account. A few bad deals can ruin your reputation.

I was about to say. But good part on the seller taking actions in making everything right and refunding the buyer's money back.
