Rate my Fantasy Team
I just had my draft last night for my pay league and think I did alright considering my draft position. It is a 12 team league. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 D with 5 bench spots.
Guess what pick I was lucky enough to have. You guessed it number 12.
Here is how I drafted by round:
Round 1 Pick 12: DeAngelo Williams(I cant believe he slid all the way to 12 but I was happy to take him).
Round 2 Pick 13: Frank Gore(I think its a solid choice but he was auto picked for me because my internet disconnected mid draft)
Round 3 Pick 36: Matt Ryan(A lot of the great QB's got snatched up real early I figured I better pick up a QB before the rest of em go. McNabb was still available but I had Ryan ranked higher.)
Round 4 Pick 37: Terrell Owens(Best WR available at this point. Figured I would take a gamble on him. It was either TO or Ochocinco for me at this point.)
Round 5 Pick 60: Brandon Marshall(Again figured I would take another gamble at WR. This could be a huge pickup if he stops with the BS. He is only suspended until Sept 5th so he might not even miss any regular season games)
Round 6 Pick 61: Derrick Ward(I like him and for my backup RB he is pretty solid.)
Round 7 Pick 84: Devin Hester(There weren't a whole lot of receivers available that I liked but it was either Hester or Antonio Bryant here for me. With Hester as Cutlers deep threat I gave the edge to Hester.)
Round 8 Pick 85: Chris Cooley(The elite TE's were gone so I'm hoping Cooley finds the end zone more than he did last year.)
Round 9 Pick 108: Eagles D(I didnt really want to take a D this early but after these 2 back to back picks its a long time until my next picks)
Round 10 Pick 109: Carson Palmer(Taking a gamble on him returning to fantasy glory and if he doesn't he is only my backup)
Round 11 Pick 132: Kevin Curtis(WR position is getting thin and he is the best available)
Round 12 Pick 133: Mason Crosby(My internet disconnected again. I had Knowshon Moreno ready to pick and my internet disconnects. Autodraft hit me with Crosby)
Round 13 Pick 156: Sammy Morris(He should start the year but NE has a ton of RBs. Figured he was the best choice at this round.)
Round 14 Pick 157: Davone Bess(Wasn't really liking anyone at the WR position and figure he should have a few good games during the year)
Here is my team:
QB: Matt Ryan
RB: DeAngelo Williams
RB: Frank Gore
WR: Terrell Owens
WR: Brandon Marshall
WR: Devin Hester
TE: Chris Cooley
K: Mason Crosby
Def: Eagles D/ST
Bench
QB: Carson Palmer
RB: Derrick Ward
RB: Sammy Morris
WR: Kevin Curtis
WR: Davone Bess
I am pretty happy with my team for having the 12th pick. My biggest challenge with be my WR position. I will have to play the waiver wire to find better backups if Curtis and Bess don't put up any numbers.
Let me know what you think about my team. Thanks.

For drafting in the 12 spot that team worked out really good for you.

I don't like the WRs, but the team is solid every where else. I would have taken McNabb over Ryan, I think the Eagles will be more of a passing team than the Falcons, but I can't knock the selection. TO is a great WR, but I think he'll have a drop off this year...Marshall is a great WR, but with the attitude issues, he's questionable at best this year...Hester has upside this year w/Cutler coming to town, but I'm not sold on him as a WR yet. With those kind of questions about the starters, I would want a better backup than Curtis or Bess. Otherwise, I like the team....DeAngelo will be a stud this year and getting him at 12 is a godsend.

The only thing I would have done differently is not draft Matt Ryan in the 3rd round. Would have went WR there. Your WR's could potentially haunt you all year. I can just see Owens being frustrated in Buffalo and causing problems a la Marshall. Your RB's will likely carry you.
Good luck!
