Threads is a solid product again this year. The base cards look amazing with the "X' design in the background. However, a small issue is the collation. Why leave the box 2 cards short of a complete set and insert 4 duplicates? Just doesn't make sense to me.
Numerous inserts are contained in this release with Gridiron Kings continuing to be the best of all. As a fan of the framed cards for years, I'm glad to see them return. Would really be great to see them resurface as their own release again. The painted sketches add an intriguing and eye-catching aspect to the cards.
I'm sure others will disagree, but when Letterman cards are numbered into the hundreds, they lose their appeal. When the Letterman cards first came out, they were limited in number and became highly collectible. Nowadays, they have become a dime a dozen. While they are nice to look at and a neat pull, the Letterman cards have turned into a farce, much like all the other types of cards that turned into too much of a good thing.
As previously mentioned, Threads has another strong showing this year. Between the inserts, relics and autos, you can expect to receive an average of almost one per pack over the run of the entire box. In addition, getting virtually all the base cards makes it fairly easy to complete a set with one box. With the card design, this should be a great set for TTM/IP Autograph seekers as the bottom half of the card is a great signature area...right below the player's name.
Once again, I'd like to thank our wonderful sponsors at Panini America for giving us the opportunity to open and review this release. For more information on all their products, check them out at www.paniniamerica.net.

looks like a strong product, i have nothing but positive things to say about Panini, keep up the good work.
I agree with Tony on the high-numbering of letterman, as well as the over production of manufactored patches. I realize threads was one of the first to do this, but the rest of the products have made this a overproduced product.
Overall, a solid box, and thanks to Panini for providing this!

Nice looking set, and it's great that you almost completed the base set with very little dupes. The inserts look nice too

Nice break and review! Definitely is a nice looking product - too bad the entire base set isn't included in one box though.
Thanks Panini!

Looks like a solid break to me...the auto'd manufactured patch cards are still pretty sweet regardless of the numbering.....thanx to Panini for the box for review

Looks like a good product, but I'm not a fan of the manufactured patches!

I like the base concept of having the names across the middle - don't see that design often in cards.
And nice pulls on the patch (though it's manufactured) and the Brady GU.

Not a fan of manufactured patches or the design of the base set. It gives me a headache to look at them.
