Magnetics storing question
I am going to get Magnetics, I was just told on here and saw a post somewhere that its magentics > Screwdowns all day, everyday, what is the reasoning behind this?
and last question - The magnetics taht are 130pt hold the UD Black cards and SPA. Is there any reason to get that big for the Topps Chrome Rookie Refractors or am I better off just getting the Regular Magnetic Cases (if they have these, n00b to buying better storage stuff), any help is appreciated!
Thanks

Hey bro, I say the Magnetics>Screwdowns because they just look better lol, and the magnetics are easier to place the card in, with the screwdowns, I would be scared to mess up the card with over tightening it and then cracking the case and messing up the card lol idk. I like how the magnetics show off the card too.
And no, you wouldn't need the 130pt for your Topps Chrome ref rc's, you can get a lower pt that would fit those cards just right. At your LCS, you will see an array of selections to choose from.

thanks for your opinion bro! Not sure the LCS has these, so trying to order online, anyone have any idea what size is good for the Chrome's and Youthquakes?

Go with 55 point for your chrome cards. As for Exquisites, I actually go with 100 point so the card doesn't shake around at all.

Your screwdowns are recessed so it's not really that big of a deal. The original screwdowns would pinch the corners and either weaken them or the card gloss would come off over time. By adding the recess, it took away that problem, but the card has a little play in it. Over time if you move or handle your cards often, the recess softens or rounds the corners slightly over time. The magnetic holders with the open corners distribute the weight of the card over two points approx 1/8 inch away from each corner. Plus, you don't have to worry about over-torquing the brass screws and either stripping them out or cracking the Plexiglas. Hope I didn't get too "Bob Vila" on you.

^Theelsnipe, thanks for the info my man, also how can you tell if you have a recessed screwdown vs non recessed (sorry a n00b and have some old baseball in screwdowns I guess i should get out.
It makes perfect sense about overtorquing and stripping, didn't think that much into it, should have duh, but how do you tell if the magnetic holder you are buying has open corners?
and last question sorry guys - 100 team bags for 1.99/2.50 @ LCS = fair?

Team Bags--- NOOOOOO. You want to order FUN YET Team Bags online. They perfectly fit magnetic holders. Regular team bags do not close on magnetics because they are not tall enough. Fun Yet Team Bags are PERFECT.

Recessed just means that there is a "card sized" indentation recessed into one of the plexi halves for the card to fit in.
Check out this magnetic holder and notice the corners of the card. They don't come into contact with the holder.
