Obscure Jordan question
Saw a card in a persons collection. Did not want to appear anxious and ignore it.
It was an autographed Jordan Card, numbered on the back, the card was transparent on the sides I believe, like it was acetate. So if anyone has an idea of the set, let me know.
It would have been between 1996 and 2001

That's ALOT of cards to choose from. Couple of questions...
When you say:
the card was transparent on the sides I believe
So...the WHOLE card wasn't Acetate?? Just the sides??
The only thing I could possibly think of would be UD Sweet Shot did some clear acetate autos..but, that was the CENTER of the card.
Or maybe, UD Trilogy..that's a PLEXIGLASS card..and you'd KNOW that one..they're VERY heavy & thick.
You say you saw it in someones collection?? Webpage or in person?? Was it a member here???

It was an old trader where I live I used to trade with.
He had a stroke and stopped collecting and I jsut happen to run into him and he had a bucket of loose cards, some in top loaders.
needless to say I was trying to get some info before hand. I let him know my interests were baseball only
It is not the UD sweet shots and after googling, it is not the trilogy. Ah well, I will know what it is in a few hours. I wanted to know so I would have some sure shot way of knowing if it was an actual auto and not a litho-impressed image of an auto.
Just one of those things. I know when I start scrutinizing it, if it is a legitimate auto, the price he had in mind for the bulk lot is going to start going up :(
But hey, thank YOU for taking the time to at least answer and give me some ideas. I looked through hundreds of Jordan cards on the web lastnight with 0 luck

Im gonna have to agree with Evan (ponyboy) on this one. The Sweet Shot Auto is the only card i can think of that has the acetate sides. GL with your search! thanx :)

I saw the sides were transparent, the entire card may be an acetate. I have acetate cards from 94 that it reminded me of. I think my isue here was one of poor articulation

At a glance, the sides are acetate and the middle is solid. Hence my poor articulation earlier.
1 hour and I will know for sure what the MJ card is ;)
