BAP Steve Mason Rookie Question

Ok, I have a question here for anyone that can help or has input on this:

I am trying to collect all Steve Mason base RCs and need the BAP Rookie. However, I've seen an 07-08 and 08-09 BAP Rookie for him.

Which would be considered his true RC, or should I just aim to get both? They are both #'d to 99 and I'm unsure on which I should pursue regarding my collection of Mason RCs. Thus far everything I have is 08-09, his true rookie season. Am I missing something here?

08-09 would be his true RC, the 07-08 version was released as a redemption and is considered an XRC I believe. Hope this helps.

Thanks Beezer- it does help to give some idea. I sort of assumed as much, but for my purposes of wanting a collection of all Mason base RCs, I want to be sure prior to obtaining or trying to get anything.

Interesting...I've seen some players have cards from like Juniors, etc, but wasn't really aware of the concept.
