2k is better every year imo. 2k is more detailed and realistic, live is more like an arcade game.

2K9 absolutely owns Live. Live has turned into such a garbage game, while 2K9 gets better and better.

imho, i'd choose neither. Ever since Live has hit 360/PS3, it has been absolute garbage.2k7 and 2k8 were great games, but 2k9, despite all the praise, drives me nuts. Graphics are great, and the game plays pretty good in single player. Online is a completely different story. The post defense is so horrible. Last year, you were able to use the shot stick to do an unstoppable dunk from the 3 point line with LeBron and Kobe only. This year, anyone with a decent dunk, and jump ratings can't be stopped.
I hate cheesers so much. Then there's the lag. I can't say how many times i've pressed quick game just for my screen to say "This game could not be started..."Then there are those glitchy animations that occasionally show up. They don't affect gameplay too much, but are still annoying when they happen. Why would my player start skipping with the basketball when he's alone on a fastbreak?? Then of course the defense catches up.

Hopefully Live 10 and 2k10 turn out for the better, i've already heard some nice things about it. Live stole 2k's gameplay guy Mike Wang, and now they're implementing some very nice touches with everything. Haven't heard too much about 2k, but now they got a new career mode(something like Madden Superstar). Which is what the 2k10 draft combine arcade game is for. From that game, I can tell the gameplay is better. Post is way harder to go through:)

I've never played any 2k game but I happen to love NBA Live.

It's too short for me (even for $5). Getting your ratings up is super hard, I finished with a 43 overall rating, and I think the highest non-hacked rating on the leaderboard was 55.

Hahaha, i just bought it because i had 2100 points and nothing to use them on.

I just enjoying playing the game and it gives a challenge at what you have to do in the combine
