100 cc to winner
150 cc to winner who picks winning team AND exact score!
Deadline: 1 pm EST / 10 am PST on date noted above for ALL games
Game 1:
Indianapolis (0-1)
at
Tennessee (1-0)
Peyton Manning is GREAT against inferior teams...but put a good defense against him, and he folds like a cheap suit. I dare say that Tom Brady is TWICE the quarterback that Manning is, and I've got TWO reasons to prove it (aka Super Bowl rings)
Is it blasphemous to say that Manning is one of the most over-rated QBs in the NFL?
By the way, did Peyton and his Volunteers of Tennessee ever beat Spurrier and the Gators during his 4-year career?
Game 2:
Carolina 0-1
at
Kansas City 0-1
Above average defense vs. above average offense - who do you choose?
note: Starting RB Stephen Davis is out for at least 1 month, due to knee surgery...but never fear - my Bruins RB, DeShaun Foster, will start. No loss at the RB position (but of course, I am SOOOOOO biased)
Game 3:
Chicago 0-1
at
Green Bay 1-0
the black-and-blue division ....always a good game, no matter what the records are.
Game 4:
Buffalo 0-1
at
Oakland 0-1
Memo to the offensive coordinator of Oakland: THROW THE FARKING BALL TO JERRY RICE and Jerry Porter and the other WRs.
Stop running the ball of 2 yards, 3 yards, 0 yards, -1 yards.... that was a pathetic running offense last week vs. the Steelers. If you can't run the ball in the 1st half at all.... perhaps you could throw it in the 2nd half?
Game 5:
Washington 1-0
at
NY Giants 0-1
Eli Manning, a $20M signing bonus for a guy who hasn't done crap (boy, that hit he took was BEAUTIFUL!) ... and even if he gets to be as good as Peyton Manning, still would be considered to having not done jacksh*t
Jeremy Shockey - all hype, some production, often injured..... much like Grant Hill of NBA
Game 6:
New England 1-0
at
Arizona 0-1
NE has 16 straight wins (2 short of the record, which several teams, including my Niners, have at 18) ....... how can they possibly lose to the Cards? We can get 49 guys/gals from SCF and still beat the Cards!
by the way .... this game will honor Pat Tillman - an athlete who walked away from a $3.5M/year contract, at age 27 - his prime, to serve in the War.
Most times, we see athletes like Emmitt Smith (who, despite having made over $100M in his career, keeps every TD he scores, so he can bring it back to his sports card shop he owns in Tallahassee, FL, and autograph it, and sell it)
Once in a rare while, we get Pat Tillman, who risked his life for us Americans.
How do athletes like Emmitt live with themselves? Instead of giving the ball to fans in the stadiums, he takes it with him home to sell it for more money? What, you can't live on $100M?
You've got families spending $150+ to attend games, and you won't throw a ball into the stands? Sure, keep your first-ever TD, keep your 100th TD...but don't keep every farking TD ball!!!
