what do i do in this situation?

i've made hundreds of online deals but this has never happened before. i sold a card to a guy on another site for $125, he listed the card on ebay as soon as he paid me(before i even sent the card out). i sent the card the very next day with dc, it's been two weeks and he hasn't recieved the card. i gave him a scan of the dc slip to prove that i sent it when i said i did and the confirmation # says it was never used even though it is stamped by the post office. he wants a refund from me so that he can refund the guy he sold it to on ebay, so i dont have my card anymore and i might have lost $125. i've been doing this for years and i've never had any problems at all so i honestly dont know what to do here.

i wish i could offer you some advice... ive never sold a card, but my suggestion would be to go down to the post office and they should be able to help you out.

    Sorry about the dilemma.

that's no good sounds like someone is lying, and i doubts it's you. if you had a DC on the shipping and the card was delivered then you owe him nothing that DC could save your case. i wouldn't worry about it since you have a DC, did the guy pay insurance on the card, if not then you are not at fault. in my opinion you owe him nothing do not pay him. if this is a site or if he sold it on ebay try and find the guy he sold it to and se if he recieved the card from the guy you sold it to. but i really do wish you the best of luck bro. but remember there is always someone trying to do anything to make an extra buck. it this case it seems like that is what this guy is trying to do. good luck man.

well he's a very reputable member, in fact we had 2 other deals this month that went well. he listed it on ebay assuming he would have it in time to mail it to the other guy with no problems. i didn't get insurance but he didn't request it either, it was another card forum not ebay or anything like that. the dc shows nothing so i guess the p.o. forgot to scan the package, because of that i have no way to tell if it was delivered to him or not.

ok, well a reputable member is a little different but you still never know, it only takes about 3-4 days for usps to ship within the united states. but there are some shady post office workers out there, after your last statment i am not sure what to do if i was you. a refund would definitly be my last resort, maybe offer him some other cards, but if you wanna keep your rep. your might just have to do a refund. again good luck with this situation.

As others have said if you have DC you should be covered even if it wasn't scanned, that's their fault. Over the years I have seen a few articles written about postal workers stealing cards. A month or so ago I read an article in SCD about a postal worker who was caught after taking the cards to a local card shop and selling them.

You need to go to the PO and ask them about the DC number. Tell them you want an explanation on what happened to the package. If they cannot give you a legit response you have to fill out a form to file a claim. I'm not sure how much money they can refund since you never insured it.

Dang man sorry to hear about the situation..if i were you i would go to the PO and make sure the DC slip was scanned..i had a problem with a DC...all that happened was they forgot to scan the dc with there thing that registers it onto the database..once they did that it registered as delivered but i couldnt prove to the guy i dealt with that it was the POs fault and not mine..so i ended up never getting my stuff back..but hopefully yours will end different...pm me with any questions.

That's actually pretty common with the post office not scanning in the DC's. When I ship, I always have the postal worker scan them in right there. I've never had a problem doing it that way. the biggest hassle is standing in line for a half hour.

Your receipt should show that you paid for the DC and the DC number will be listed on the reciept.

Did YOU visit the Post Office web site and enter the DC number?

From what I read above it sounds like HE told you it was not a used number. Check it yourself. Do not assume.
