Ebay Advice Needed
have any ebay sellers on here ever had someone request to ship an item they bought to a different address than what their paypal address is?
i've been selling on ebay for almost 6 years now and just sold a auto/patch lot for over $100 and had the buyer request i ship to a different address than his paypal, i've never had this happen. i asked the buyer why they wanted this done and explained that the only way i get protection is from shipping to their confirmed address and i got a reply from them saying they understood, but they were obviously upset. didn't get a reason why they want it shipped elsewhere and they requested to end the sale.
what would you guys/gals do?

Ship it to the confirmed address only. He/she needs to update their account. If you ship it elsewhere PayPal won't cover it I believe.

If you received your money, and send item w/confirmation. Item may be purchased as a gift. Check rating and previous transactions.

if i did send it to the buyer's "temporary" address, putting delivery confirmation on it would not do anything cause if they filed a claim paypal would not side with me due to not shipping to the address in their paypal account.

But you would have their emails asking you to send it to the other address.
I think you would be covered.

I meant, someone the buyer knows has to sign for the card. Certified signature required. Any amount you don't feel like losing. Certify and insure. Sorry, negotiate your loss, meet the buyer both ways. Feedback ratings are very important. I have a 800+ pos rating mainly from buyer standpoint.
