RANT: Ebay Sellers...
Only reason I am writing this is because I am so ticked off with two sellers. One is going on almost a month for an item and the other gives a blase' response after not shipping an item for two weeks.
Am I wrong in thinking of buying something off of eBay as a business transaction? I HATE hearing 'I am a collector, not a dealer.' You are dealing if you are selling something so what gives? Does that give you carte blanche to just ship when you feel like it might kinda sorta be time? No one forced them to list it. The kicker is when they have 'Item must be paid for within 3 days'. Ugh.
The person that I am waiting a month on started out and out calling me names, and not nice ones I tell you, because I wondered where my item was after 2 1/2 weeks. Like I was inconveniencing him for wanting my item. And his excuse was just lovely. 'I haven't had time to ship it. Been busy. If you live in Pittsburgh I can hand deliver it.' My question back was 'If you can't find the time to ship it then how do you have the time to hand deliver it?'. Another hissy fit on his part and more name calling.
As a seller, I ship within 1 or 2 days because if a buyer has paid for his item then he has held up his end of the transaction and I feel justified to do the same. I wish others would just be honest and ship within a reasonable time. I guess sometimes that is asking too much.
On the other hand it REALLY makes the times you receive a card in a timely manner seem like nothing short of a miracle...
Thanks for letting me get that off of my chest.
Done and done.

The same thing is happening to me, and I can't stand it!!! I am waiting 2+ weeks on multiple items. It also seems this happens more frequently when you get a good deal on an item. I especially hate when you get a response like "Calm down...it has only been 2 weeks, it will be shipped shortly...I lead a very busy life." As a seller, I usually sell 1-2 items a day and I guarantee you that they are shipped within 24 hours of receiving payment unless there are extenuating circumstances (such as illness or family emergency). I don't care is you are a collector/dealer/whatever...if you are too busy to take 10 minutes out of your life to ship a card, perhaps you take care of other issues in your life instead of listing cards on ebay.

I agree-- if you're selling something, you should have plans on how to get it shipped in a timely manner.
He listed the item, so it's not like the sale came out of the blue and caught him off guard. He probably had no problem being a "dealer" and taking your money when you paid. lol

Call Ebay customer service Immediately! If it's been 3-1/2 weeks you have a ligitimate claim. Tell them that you have been in contact with the seller, they will take care of it one way or the other.

Already filed the claim and left negative feedback. Going through the ten day process and everything. It's just the idea that someone is willing to be so callous and lazy for $20. It is just the idea of it that gets me all worked up. Just ship the dang thing.

I'm feeling the same way as you except my problems are with buyers. I sold two cards to one buyer a couple weeks ago and I sent him a couple invoices with notes to pay and he never did than just as I file the dispute he pays the same day. The other I sell a nice 1/1 and he messages me almost immediately claiming that he "had to change his paypal account" so he was looking for another option to pay. I give him both my home and paypal address so he can pay and then he comes back with the excuse "bills were higher than what I thought they were going to be this month" so he offer to payback relisting fees which were an entire 0.40.
I wish there was another option besides ebay.

I both buy and sell on ebay. I HATE people who doesn't pay within 48 hours, the same goes with sending out.
I know you have 7 days to pay, but to wait 6 days to pay and then expect the seller to ship out within 1 day makes no sence. It goes both ways.
It's less work to send a paypal payment than it is to package a card and mail it. I always pay within 12 hours of winning an auction, in most cases I do it right after the deadline.
Conclusion is, pay right away, send right away.

If I've paid for an item and it's been 7 days and I haven't received my item? I'm majorly ticked off. I don't card how busy you are. You can ship with paypal and walk right to your door and put it in your mailbox. All these people that give the "...oh I'm a college student I don't have time to ship,I'm so busy" You had time to spend the money I sent, did you not?

I always ship cards within 3 days. If I get called out of town an a business trip, I will notify the buyer, apologize for the delay, and tell them exactly when their card will ship. If it takes me beyond the 3 day rule I'll offer to refund shipping charges. It's plain courtesy, and most people seem to NOT have it.
If someone took 2 weeks to ship a card to me and did not drop an email, I will at best leave neutral, and based on their response to my email, possibly leave a negative. While we all have real life issues that come up, it takes 30 seconds to drop a note to the person who sent you their money.
I'm currently waiting on a $62 hockey hockey card that I won 2 weeks ago. It is coming from Canada, so I'll give it until Monday before I send the seller a note. But if it's not here then, they'll be hearing from me :)
