Jordan SLAMMED...
WOW..Jordan was SLAMMED in write up over his speech at Symphony Hall that nite.
From being called petty to vicious. Sorry to see Michael go out that way. Maybe one day he'll realize what we all already know..that he's the BEST there is and ever was..<< IMO
only.

Man alive, they are being so negative about his speech...I liked his speech, and while I can see that writer's side of it, to a point, I still don't agree with it. I thought his speech was just fine...maybe he was jumping around a bit, and going back to past games/whatever, but I think it was fine.

This writer doesn't know heck he's talking about, that was a great speech that showcased Jordan's competitive nature and personality, and what's wrong with that? It was that competitive nature that brought him in the HOF in the first place.
Anybody who thinks otherwise doesn’t know what it means to be great.

I LOVE Jordan and his game..but, being from Chicago..I've heard the horror stories about him. I guess it's the price you have to pay by being famous and '1' of the best that every graced the basketball court.

He was being Michael. Just like in the NBA, he climbed to the top of the hill, called out "Here I am", and dared anybody to knock him off. Good for him. Looks like the writer still has a vendetta against Jordan. Maybe he's a Magic fan. Or Shaq. Or Barkley. Or Olajuwon. Or Ewing. Or Stockton. Or Malone. He was polarizing because he closed the door on every franchise through the 90s, except Houston's repeat when he "retired" for the first time. Suck it up, Wojnarowski. If Michael's one flaw is vanity, it only proves he's human.

I thought his speech was hilarious. He was being competitive and teasing. It's amazing how many people can't tell the difference between playful "trash talk" and actual disparagement. Good grief, loosen up a little.

Besides, who cares if Jordan gave a great speech or not, this writer needs to take a look at the big picture and realize that we're not going to remember Michael Jordan for his speech but for all the accomplishments he has achieved. I mean, it's not like MJ is running for president or anything, he's just an athlete who spoke from the heart and gave a real honest speech. Some people might want to interpret that honesty in a negative way, but don't be nitpicking at it, it's just disrespectful.
