E-bay dilema
So, Surprise Surprise I have a problem with a member in Canada. I don't like to stereotype, because many canadien buyers are fine. I just sold an Ovechkin YG to someone in Quebec. In any of my auctions that goes over $35, I REQUIRE registration becasue too much gets lost up there. The buyer didn't wait for an invoice, and only paid the standar shipping. When i contacted him and told him he was $8 short, he got upset and told me he wasn't paying it and wanted a refund. Now I'm not sure if I want to be stubborn and give him an unpaid item strike, or just simply refund him. I don't like that he didn't a) wait for an invoice, and b) Didn't read the item description where it clearly says registration is required. Anyways, what would you all do. Thanks in advance.

Since you require buyers to for the registration, I think it might be best to refund the money and ask him to pay for the full invoiced amount. He already got mad about the $8, last you want is him claiming the card didn't arrive (unless you still go ahead with the registration and suck up the extra money).
I'd say refund and make him pay the full amount.

You should have just listed in as a BIN/BO with 12.00 shipping to Canada. IN terms of your current predicament, just refund the money and file a non paid strike.

Well I am from Quebec and I do consider myself Canadian... I agree with the above... Refund him and give him an Unpaid strike.. If you wrote your policy on shipping in your description then he is at fault and should take ownership.. As far as using the language as an excuse, well it is just that an excuse!!! DO NOT EXCUSE HIM/HER!!! Just my 2 cents... Bonne Chance, Mon ami...
