Hockey Guys, Help Me out!
I don't do hockey but I've got the following I might purchase, wanting to see which one seems better and if the prices are ok?
1st- Wayne Gretzky Kings Jersey Auto'd & Framed w/UD COA $300
OR
2nd- Gretzky Topps RC PSA 7 & Lemieux Topps RC PSA 8 $300
Also, what's the price difference bewteen the OPC & Topps Gretzky RCS?
Thanks for any help

Would PSA grade fakes? If so wouldn't they show it on the title?Last edited by bjtheman1; 09-14-2009 at 07:03 PM.

I'd go with the cards. If they're slabbed by PSA, you're probably fairly safe they're legit.

I've been secretly vying for both of those cards since I was a kid. However, that's not a bad price for the jersey either, and it's already framed and ready to hang on your wall, and for a non-hockey guy, it might serve a better purpose for you. However, if you enjoy cards of other sports, it's really hard to look at a Gretzky rookie and not smile to yourself. I'm not much of a football guy, but if someone found me a Joe Montana RC for a good price, I wouldn't think twice about it. Who here collects golf cards? But, if someone offered you a sweet Tiger Woods auto card, would you have interest? It's all about the legendary status of the players. It depends if you want to have something as a part of your card collection, or if you want to look up on your wall and be able to see Wayne's John Hancock anytime you like.

1. Buy the cards for that price
2. Sell the cards on Ebay for much more
3. Use the funds to buy a framed Gretzky Jersey and a PS3 or something.

I would take the cards. Many person have jersey with COA but who writes them. If you don't know them, it migh be a fake COA. Some source may be safe to buy but other sources you never know for sure. PSA cards can only increase and less chance for it to be fake since they are graded by PSA.

The jersey is Upper Deck w/COA. I'm really considering it, I might actually get it for $250!
It would look nice with my other jerseys.
thanks for all the input

I don't think you could go wrong with either of these choices. Both sound like pretty good deals.
I guess it depends what you want. If it's something that looks nice hanging on the wall, the Jersey is obviously going to be the way to go.
Myself, I'd take the cards though. Two cards I've (personally) always wanted to own.
