Vanek poised to become part of NHL's elite

    By John Vogl
    NEWS SPORTS REPORTER

There's a difference between a star and a superstar. Thomas Vanek is a star. But since the first day he arrived in Buffalo, he's wanted to be a superstar.

Nice little article....actually just printed it off and I am going to give it to the kids I coach. Sure sounds like he wants to be a leader on that team. Something goes wrong and not how he hopes his answer is to work harder. Great example for kids.

Funny this was posted today. I was talking to one of my friends yesterday and he was asking me my top 10 picks for this years upcoming fantasy hockey league we both play in.

I didn't want to tip my hand totally but when I mentioned a few (4) of my top 10 players, Vanek was one of them.

My reasoning? He is playing on a young team that has tons of speed, which is huge in the new NHL. Add to that the guy has a great pair of hands around the net and he is a potential 35-50 goal scorer every single year IMO.

Hopefully, the kids enjoy the article.
