But this ISN'T a hate crime.....
.......of course because the victim is white.
Switch the races of the victim and attackers and it is national news.

The 17-year-old victim was white and the teen assailants were black. Police released a video of the beating, which shows the victim being punched repeatedly while other students on the bus gather to watch, some cheering. It doesn't appear that the victim did anything to provoke an attack and tried only to defend himself. Police said it all unfolded in a five-minute span.
The bus driver should be fired at the least.

mock all you want, but the truth of this is that there would be protests, rally's, and hate crime charges if the races were different.

As a contritibution, I agree that this should widely be considered a hate crime.
In fact, I'm not happy with the whole designation of "hate crime" period. If we are to become a nation of limited racism, then the color of one's skin shouldn't determine the level of a crime. Instead of Black vs. White, it should be Human vs. Human.

I agree. Its funny that legislation passed to prevent racism promotes unequal punishment for crimes based solely on the race of victims and criminals. I dont want this to be considered a hate Crime unless ALL violent crime is a hate crime.

Exactly how I feel as well. At the very least, if there are hate crime laws, they should be applied equally to all races.
