how does book value multipliers work please help NOW!!!

I know this may sound like a dumb question...but if a gold version of a card says .3x to .8x etc of the regular high book...does this mean .8 of the regular card or .8 + the original book value.

For instense, Ultra 13 rookies are #/ but the Gold Medallion parallel isnt. So the parallel would be worth less than the base card

That and with rookies the "true" rookies carry more value than parallels and inserts, so even if their both numbered and the gold is numbered lower thn the value would probably be the same or less, unless theres a significant difference in the numbering.

Some of what your seeing has to do with retail products... Lets say hypathetically speaking,... hopefully i can explain this,

pack A from wal mart has a "gold" card 1:per pack... k and now pack B from the Hobby shop has no "gold" cards at all... but now in the hobby pack you can pull rookie cards 1:4 packs... which is a bit short printed rookie card. Well for every hobby rookie that is pulled theres 4 times as many "gold" cards... cause the "gold" cards are inserted one per pack... therefor, if you get a gold rookie card, its actually worth less than the hobby rookie card, cause in weird sense its easier to get...

YEA ITS KIND OF DUMB IMO. SOMETIMES YOU WILL PULL A NICE PARALLELL RC #eD TO ONLY LIKE 25 WHEN THE REGULAR ISSUED CARD BOOKS 10.00 , SO 10.00 x.8 WILL BE ONLY 8 BUCKS... I DONT GET IT EITHER BUT YEA , IT ENDS UP BOOKING LESS IN VALUE
