Hideki Matsui Home Run Collection
THIS is how you do a home run history set:
http://picasaweb.google.com/daclyde/...eRunCollection
From his debut in NPB, NTV (and later Upper Deck for his MLB home runs) issued a card for every one of Hideki Matsui's home runs....as he hit them. So all of the photos are from the actual home run or game, not like Topps and Upper Deck (in the US) where they issue a set of 500 cards and employ like 5 different photos.
I've only got 119 of them, but the set covered up to at least HR #379.Last edited by DaClyde; 01-01-2010 at 09:11 PM.

I got them in a big lot of Japanese cards from one of the new members here, jop (he's from the Philippines). He actually contacted me from a comment I made on the Japanese Baseball Card blog about some Tuffy Rhodes cards I needed. He gave me an awesome deal. I'm going to send a bunch of the other BBM, Calbee and Konami cards in to COMC as soon as my Sportlots sales money comes in.

I just scored about another 60 or so of these (thanks jop!), so I'll be updating the gallery as I get them scanned. Filled in a lot between 94-264. I'm hoping I can track down some of the Upper Deck releases from when he went to the Yankees.

Added another 20 or so scans today and remembered that Deanna Rubin, Japanese baseball fan & blogger extraordinaire, posted some photos of her visit to the Hideki Matsui Baseball Museum in Japan. As part of the museum, they have the entire set arranged in order with what look to be 8x10 blowups of most of the cards in the series, to include the Upper Deck cards from his Yankee home runs. Check it out:

The next 4-5 photos show the "Hideki Matsui Homerun Road".
