In my opinion, show stamped cards should be worth less than regular issues, unless the show card is a unique card that was never released before. Some people see it diferently though, that's just me.

It's really a matter of opinion.
There are some people out there that will pay a premium for them, there are others that have zero intrest in them. A Kane YG with a 1/1 show stamp on it.... you're no longer going to be able to sell it as a RC.... but if there are a couple of Kane collectors out there that are into the show cards, you might get a much higher sale value. Those cards are REALLY hit or miss.

Yup pretty much a matter of opinion, myself I have no intrest in show stamped cards, where someone else might really like show stamped cards.

It's extremely rare to get a premium for a show stamped card. Some special show issues do get considerable hobby love, but for the most part, you're better off with the same card out of a pack.

i personally have no interest in show stamped cards. now on the other hand i will take free cards at a show when i get the chance and trade/sell for other cards that i like. the only exception that i can think of and i love are the priority signing cards.

OK, so let's say you collect Zach Parise and you are after every card of his, EVERY card of his. A show card pops up for trade or on eBay. I'm buying it if I don't have it already. It is another version of a card and to me, another card. Think along the lines of parallel.

thanx guys
i am sort of on the fence myself for the above reasons stated by Rangrsuk and BeeZer
and since this is a hobby not an investment portfolio.....
a PC card doesn't need to be valued highly amongst the hobby collectors, its my collection. but the trade value to someone else so i can add to my own collection is what varys so much and it makes trading one of these more of a challenge.

IMO a show stamped card is no different than a damaged card. It should be worth way less.

With all the shows these days at which show-stamped cards are appearing they are becoming less and less unique. They're nice to have, but they can be murder if you're a player collector. At the '04 Fall Expo ITG did 3 different stamps on H&P base cards, all /10: In The Game, Hockey Lives, and Fall Expo. I've yet to see any of them for my Gorges collection, and it's a major tip of the cap to a couple collectors out there that have all three of them. Nowadays, they're usually given out as wrapper redemptions and some of them are pretty spectacular and specially-created cards, while some are just cards from the regular set with a stamp.
Neat to have, but not a top priority for most collectors.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
