Season Tickets anyone?
Okay folks I have a question for everyone....I know we have a huge youth movement on this site but also some seasoned or (grizzly) vets here too... I was browsing through the Flyers website yesterday and wondered to myself how people afford season tickets...To give everyone an idea of what its like in Philly (I know a far shot from the most expensive seats in the sport) A ticket for the lower level to a game is $96.00...A season ticket holder pays $79 dollars for the same lower level seat...If a person pays for one season ticket for the lower level (excluding ice row ie the first 2 rows) the cost is $3,476 and I wanna say that doesnt even include a parking voucher....
While I know hockey isnt the MOST expensive sporting event to attend I often wonder how people afford that luxury...Let alone purchase 2-4 seats a year...In my opinion I have a stable well providing job am I missing something?!

Football is the only one I can afford season seats to :)
Had Buffalo Bills season tickets for a couple of years (me and 2 other friends split 4 tickets). It was only costing around $450 per seat, so it wasn't too bad. Just too much work getting from Cambridge Ontario to Buffalo that often, so we stopped doing it.
I've had Hamilton Tiger Cats this year (me and a friend split a pair). It's only $250 for decent seats. Gotta love the CFL :)
For hockey..... it's really not that unbelievable that people can afford it. You can get a decent seat in most rinks for $50 to $75. That's $2050 on the low end of that, and $3075 on the high end. When you consider that most teams will let you do a payment plan (during the off season, of course) you can probably set it up to make 4, even 6, equal payments. If you want to go to 41 games.... that's not really that horrible of a price.
