Ex-eBay CEO Whitman announcing bid for CA Gov

Whitman announcing bid for CA Gov

Former eBay CEO Meg Whitman will officially declare her candidacy for governor of California on Tuesday at an event in Fullerton, California.

Whitman, the 53-year-old former CEO of eBay, will become a leading GOP candidate to succeed current Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2010, when he is forced to retire due to term limits. Ms. Whitman, who stepped down as CEO of eBay in March of 2008, has never held elected public office.

I love seeing successful businesspeople running for office, but I have to wonder if California can stand continually raising fees on sellers and not allowing any negative feedback for buyers...

Well. california is allready ruined, so it will be pretty hard for her to completely ruin it like she did with ebay. IDK. She may not be responsible for my #1 problem with ebay. I think it happened after she left. It was the final straw that finally killed the original ebay concept. It was the decision to make "best match" the default search setting instead of ending soonest. That pretty much defeats the whole AUCTION concept.

politically and financially. The two things that would apply to an ex-CEO running for office.
