That actually sounds genius to me! It would sure save a lot of sleuth work that I know some people do. Plus it would make me not be paranoid about a sexy patch.

The reason, James, is money. There would be a ton of man hours involved in photographing and cataloging each memorabilia card that's produced. The cost outweigh the benefits. Remember, most manufacturers don't care about patch faking, they're there to make money. UD did something with the latest release of the Cup when they released images of all the Taylor Hall ARPs, but it's a long way from a full archive.

I think the comments relating to taking pix being a cost hinderence while valid, are unfortunately necessary in order to keep the industry healthy. I do think if the card manufacturers don't care about this serious problem (although I would think they do or else why take the Taylor Hall pictures), the indusrty will continue to suffer to the point of peril. I state this, because counterfeiting has ruined other hobbies such as beanie babies and medias, such as the movie industry (I work in this industry).
The movie industry for example spend necessary millions to control piracy. They have to, it's their livelihood.
I do think for some of the high end jersey / patches and sp's of jersey/patches,they must have a public viewing area on the card manufacturer's respective sites. From there, sellers / traders would then be responsible to look up the card they want to sell or trade. If anyone is caught selling or trading counterfeit or compromised cards on sites, the site would be obligated to report it to local police in the seller / trade location. The counterfeiting would slow down in a hurry. Just some quick possible solutions to ponder. I'm sure more here could add on.
Sorry for being so long winded.
Thanks, James.Last edited by 416beatles; 11-30-2011 at 09:07 PM.

I agree with you sholi2000. I checked the sellers other items for sale and every card listed has an incredible patch. It just seems a little odd.
James.

I put it on Upper Deck facebook. I hope all those bidders get a clue.

If it's breakawaycards that is selling, it's very likely legit - he has an outstanding collection and an excellent reputation in this hobby

I owned this card about a year ago. I bought it from the guy who pulled it back in 05/06. The card is legit. For anyone following Lundqvist Cup RCs closely they would know that these shoulders patches were used for quite a few of his cards.

I completely trust that seller, he's completely legit.
Good to see a former owner of the card weigh in, I know I've seen similar patches on other Lundqvist cards.

wow I am surprised. I have never seen that cut on a Lundqvist patch or any other Rags 05-06 card. I'll have to dig up so me more proof to convince me otherwise.
