It's usually late November/early December for the hockey card promotion.

is it just me or are the mcdonalds cards the best profit makers through all of the hockey products the past few year? i mean you can buy packs at a buck a pack and if you pull an insert you will make more than your money back and if you hit a SP insert they sell for huge amounts.

    Yep.

I do a 'set' every year.... the base, and the inserts.... but I don't bother with the SP inserts (so last year... didn't get the Clear Path To Greatness).

I pulled two Clear Paths, and sold them for about $80 (total). At $1 a pack, that paid for most of it.

Get a redemption for a GU, and it's even crazier. Those can sell for 100s.

I like to do a set every year too. Even the nine years I was out of trading. I had lots of inserts from that time, and have used them for an inflated trade value to get what I need. It's amazing how they command a premium, but in hind sight. Seeing that they are sold in Canada only, and it takes a little time for them to trickle back south or over seas, then the demand stays a little stronger for them. In a way, kind of an unfair advantage for us here..... For a buck a pack! The only thing you have to endure is the items you have to buy off their menu.

Hit my first g/u'd last year in a Thornton jersey. McDonald's always has awesome set designs.
