    Moving day finds

    Hello,

on moving my mother from her apt i stumbled on 4 binders full of hockey cards from the 88-92, no body in the family collects hockey cards or is even into hockey aside from myself. aparantly we've had them for about 10 years in a closet. i collected coins and comics as a youngin' but never cards.

anyway me with a bunch of hockey cards is like a humminbird with a screwdriver, no one knows how i got it and ****ed if i know what to do with them.

Anyway from what i've sorted through is:

    1. O-pee-chee set 1989 #1-330, complete sequential order.
every card seems to look brand new to my eye, no corners creases or stains visible through the plastic.

    2. 1989-90 rookie and traded "Score" cards
109 cards total in sequential order.

    3 1989-90 "score" set
regular season, all stars, trophy and award cards, catagory leaders, HOF's , top prospect cards, 1st round drafters, and 5/5 unique eric lindro's ect ect ect

    Edit
    -----
    4. 9 idenitical segei federov cards, no brand name simply says on back
Det- Red wings, 89=90 stats none available, member of soviet national team, leader for calder trohpy
    ?????????

anyway , i'm looking for info on the ones i've figured out and many more binders to root through, any help with value (i doubt very much) or desirablity would be apreciated.

just the motivation i need at the right time of the year.

    Welcome to SCF!

I hate to be the one to bring disappointing news..... but you probably didn't hit the jackpot here.

Most stuff from the late 80s and early - mid 90s really plummeted in value / demand.... because it was so over produced.

The score set isn't worth much. The Martin Brodeur rookie card (near the end of the set) is really the only card worth anything in there... and even then, we're only talking about a few dollars.

The Rookie / Traded set.... I often see them @ card shows for $2.

The 1989 OPC has a few nice cards in it (Joe Sakic and Brian Leetch Rookies) but again, it's from the age of mass-production. I think it used to book in the range of $60, but I'd be surprised if it sells for even half of that now.

The Federov cards, I have no idea. I know in the early 90s there were a TON of unlicensed cards going around (Federov, Lindoros, Roy, Lemieux, and Gretzky all had a lot of that stuff made). I have no idea what you've got though (Something like this is what it sounds like to me). Would need to see a scan of one of them to be a little more sure.
