MINNEAPOLIS (AP)—The Minnesota Timberwolves have promoted Fred Hoiberg to vice president of basketball operations and demoted assistant general manager Jim Stack to a scout.

Hoiberg has been an assistant general manager for the past three seasons. The team said Saturday he will oversee day-to-day operations and report to David Kahn, the president of basketball operations.

Stack will become one of the team’s six regional scouts.

lol...yeah, he had open heart surgery a few years back, and attempted a comeback, but decided against it after awhile, due to the possible negative impact on his heart...so, the Wolves FO offered him a job, and he took it...nice to see too! He was a pretty decent shooter in his playing days.
