The Admiral VS DH12. Who is better ?
Yesterday, I saw one discussing thread at my local NBA forum.
only a few people insisted David Robinson is worse than DH12.
Their Logic is DH12 is younger (than Robinson's career) and went to final(not like David Robinson). Furthermore, DH12 will able to show more and more nice things.
I like DH12(not much though) and I have never liked David Robinson and I don't deny DH12 might be able to show something in the future.
But I have never thought DH12 might be able to reach David Robinson's level.
Because 1990's was not like (most of funny Center's) 2000's. And this is not Nostalgia.
2000's
Only DH12 n Ming is all star level Center. and rest of all ? only a few nice center players exist like Al Jefferson and Brook Lopez.
(Andrew Bynum and Greg Oden have Potention but Bynum have injured too much and Oden had had too much foul trouble.)
Funnily Old SHAQ, Erick Dampier and Marcus Camby are still not bad. Rather a bit nice.
Another example is real 7 footer and Young Tyson Chandler proved he was just rotten tyson food but Old Alonzo Mourning(only 6-10 and he might be shorter than that profile height.) showed who is ZO after much suffering disease.(at Final)
But 1990's there were too many Crazy Center players and Power Foward players.
and David Robinson was one of the craziest. OF course, he lost against Hakeem Olajuwon but Hakeem Olajuwon is one of the top 5 Center player through entire NBA history. So that's not weird.
Just my OP.
What do you think about this topic ?

Some people don't realize how amazing David Robinson was when he played during his prime. He is definitely one of the most complete and great Centers to have ever played.
Dwight Howard first needs to develop some better post moves to even be remotely considered in the same conversation as David Robinson.

Athletically and physically they can be compared. Dwight would win out most likely because of his resume but as a complete player Robinson could do so many things. A guy who could block, steal or rebound and beat everyone to the other end and finish. Had a few post moves and a face up jumper. In terms of talent, early in his career, Robinson never really had the level of talent that Dwight had last year so it's tough to hold any individual accountable in a team sport. But both are great guys on and off the court and that comparison serves them both well.

I doubt Howard will EVER be avle to put up 72 points like Robinson did... I give the defensive edge to him though.

The Admiral. DH12 needs to beef up his resume over the next several seasons.

Robinson played the game with finesse, which he used to his advantage. Dwight plays the game with power, which works to his advantage. But, if they played head-to-head, I think Robinson would win, because of the fact that he could take a fadeaway shot with decent accuracy - Dwight, not so much. Robinson is better than Dwight as of today, but if Dwight beefs up his finesse in games, I could see him being better than The Admiral.

I going with one of my favorite players of all time, The Admiral. He was the complete package for a center. DH12 is still young and a couple of years away from his prime, but he won't be as complete of a center as Robinson was. He'll stay more on the defensive side though.
