Beckett Grading Questions

I just picked up a nice Jordan auto, and I am thinking of getting it graded. Is Beckett the best to use? Is there a way they will tell me the grade before they slab it? I don't really want a grade on it if it is going to be less that 8.5, I don't think it will be. Is there any special way I should send it? This would be my first card to actually send to be graded. Any advice/input is welcome. Thanks.

If you were to send it to Beckett for grading, I would suggest to insure the package, put delivery confirmation, and make sure it's in a box, take pictures of the box and the shipping label just for evidence that you did ship it. There have been a few times where packages have been opened, and cards stolen...very expensive cards. So, with insurance, and delivery confirmation at least you know you're backed up with something, and the pics show you packaged the card in there.

As for the finding out what it'll grade before the slab, idk if you can, probably call beckett and ask them about that.

For me, I wouldn't send any of my cards to be graded. Too much risk of something going wrong. I've just heard too many horror stories.

GL on getting a high grade if you decide to send it! BTW, are you looking to keep this MJ in your collection, or are you looking to sell it later on down the road? If you want to sell, grading would be great if you get a high grade because the price will be bumped up. If you want to keep it...grading would be useless.

Thanks for your input. I might move it later down the road, thats why I am thinking about grading it.

for grading...yes beckett is the Best IMO, but the only thing i would worry about is shipping it to them, i've read in the past a few guys shipped out a jordan or lebron auto and it was snagged by either a postal worker or someone, so if i were you i would do your best to get it securely there or get a on site slabbing at a outlet or something.
