CALGARY, AB. - The BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week is goaltender Andrew Hayes of the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Hayes posted a 2-0-0-0 record over the weekend with two shut-outs, stopping all 41 shots faced for a 0.000 goals-against average and 1.000 save percentage.

On Friday, September 25th, the Wheat Kings hosted the Swift Current Broncos for their home opener at Brandon’s Westman Communications Group Place. Hayes stopped all 16 shots faced as the Wheat Kings blanked the Broncos 3-0 in front of 5,300 fans, and was named the games 3rd Star. The following evening, Saturday, September 26th, the Wheaties were in Moose Jaw to take on the Warriors at the Civic Centre. Hayes turned away all 25 shots as the Wheat Kings shut-out the Warriors 4-0. He was also named the games 1st Star.
