Good article ,but I really think it is the lack of dunking. Dunking happens about 5-10 times in a NBA game. Only a few women have dunked.

I wonder if some of the lack of attention for the WNBA comes from the lack of attention paid to women's college basketball. A lot of NBA fans followed the players while they were in college, so the NBA is a continuation of that (in some cases).

Isn't it really a gender thing? Men are into sports and most women are not. If women loved sports as much as men did the WNBA would be just as popular as the NBA.

Mike:
But I think it's disproportionate. There are more women watch NBA, NFL, etc. than guys who watch the WNBA, women's soccer, golf, tennis, etc.

Great article Nathan. Unfortunately, I just don't like watching women's basketball on TV. I've tried, but I can't get into it. I don't know if it's gender bias, or maybe it's because I've never had a local team to watch.
