Kobe says hello to Panini
Panini scored it's first big athlete with the pending signing of Kobe to it's basketball brand. The question for many collectors who have pending redemptions with UD is whether they will still be fulfilled or replaced.

WOW! This is HUGE news...I didn't think Kobe would leave Upper Deck...wow...huge news for the hobby, and great news for Panini!

Upper Deck released a statement acknowledging, kind of, the parting of Kobe and saying they have a signing scheduled soon for Kobe to fulfill his outstanding redemptions.
Though this isn't baseball, Panini clearly is here to play hardball.

This is great news for Panini who hasn't had the smoothest transition yet with UD & Topps releasing all of these 09-10 cards already.

Here's the latest jab from UD, as posted on their Facebook site:
"We would like to remind collectors that Upper Deck is STILL the exclusive home for autographs of LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Look for new autograph cards of these two superstars in future Upper Deck products. And remember, it's just not Basketball without them."
