Good MLB Players Home Addy Topic!

    Hey SCF.

I'm pretty sure all of us have taken chances on finding TTM addys for various Professional Athletes, Celebrities, etc. And in some cases we received them back RTS for 1 reason or another.

(Q1) Please confirm, what are we to think about those TTM addys we find and mail to that do NOT come back RTS? Is it correct to assume it's the correct addy for that TTM???

(Q2) Do you think it's best to keep the addy to yourself so your TTM is the "only one" infront of the person to sign? Or do you think it's best to share the addy so others can TTM aswell to get the addressee to sign???

I ask because in the '08 MLB offseason I found/discovered the TTM hobby and got really zealous about locating current Milwaukee Brewers player home addys (some of you may remember my earliest post here on SCF). Via a combination of MLB Profiles, Wikipedia, & Whitepages.com, I found home addys for Rickie Weeks, Prince Fielder, Corey Hart, JJ Hardy, Ben Sheets, CC Sabathia, Craig Counsell, Mat Gamel (c/o Parents), & Eric Gagne. Jeff Bagwell, Carl Crawford, & Gary Gaetti were couple other home addys I found. I sent a TTM to all of them. I never got an RTS from any of those like I got from Jason Kendall (yeah, the only RTS I got out of all of the previously listed players).

I don't think the PO can deliver our TTM to the addy that DOES NOT match the current resident, right?

With '09 MLB Offseaon approaching, what do you think of all this?
Let's stick to (Q1) & (Q2), please do not post/lecture about "bothering" current players until they are "out of the game", though I think you can mention that if that's what you believe in (and if you believe that's truly best for the TTM hobby).

    What do you think???

Q1- No some people may have just moved in or it was the wrong address in the first place and probably think it is "junk mail"

Q2- Yes and No- Some players ask that their address not be shared and some love the fanmail- It all depends on the player

#1 it could be wrong address , Same name but Wrong Person,Or player has moved

#2 I share all my addy as you guys do know over the last 2 years i have had 4 players
request to have them taking Down and 2 Players to send to agent and not home addy

If you Do your Research and take your time searching for addy You Rate will be High but if you just take first addy you see then your rate will be lower

thats why i always say Tested or Untested Addy or Have not seen any sign from This address Since 07

#1) Wait till you get a return to decide if was right address. A success would definately be great.
#2) First off drop yours in the mail then post up the addy. Most folks will not see that new address posted until you post a success anyways! Why would you not want to share after you have gotten yours signed?

Thanks for your contributions to the autograph community here!

    Sounds good.

(Q2) is asking if it would be wise to share the addys even though there hasn't been a return because if there was more than 1 TTM delivered the person MIGHT be more inclined to sign.
I assume if a TTM hasn't been RTS then the addy must be good and the TTM was either disregarded or is waiting to be signed.
I believe, most times, the PO will not deliver a TTM if the person addressed on the addy is not the current resident. For example, I had a Jim Gantner TTM get RTS c/o 4 different home addys bc he didn't live at that addy any longer. Then again I've had Jason Kendall come back with RTS written by the current resident with a comment saying "doesn't live here".

I have no problem sharing my addys; that's not what I'm saying.

I think I will post the home addys I found during the '08 MLB Offseason for those mentioned above and see if more mail = more attention, and successes versus WAITING (as all of them are currently for me).

Q1 - When I do not receive my items back, I assume it is a good addy and the person just threw my request and cards away. I think the longest TTM I have had took almost 8 months.

Q2 - I post all my successful addys. However, I do not post an addy if I have not received anything back from the person. There have been instances where I have seen someone have a success from an addy where I did not receive anything back from a person. Typically, I will not try that person again until I see 2 or more successes within a short period of time.

About them asking to be taken down:A home address is actually public information. They can not force you to take it down. However a phone number that is non-published is considered private and could be deemed illegal to tell publicly.
