Was just about to post this. I don't know how he was in the pre-season, but I'm surprised to see him sent back. A lot of people including myself were looking forward to seeing him in the NHL this season.

Honestly its for his own good and development. He looked real bad in the preseason. At times lost. He has been bothered by a sore back too. Another season under his belt before being a full time NHL'er will be great for him. And it will make my wallet happy.

Cody Hodgson also made the Canucks last season but the team figured another year in juniors would be good for him.

Unfortanutely, Hodgson suffered a back injury in July that didn't allow him to start working out when everyone else was. When he finally was able to go, unfortanutely it was too late with the end of training camp and the pre-season. He never really found his groove until the last game or so.

I honestly thought the Canucks would keep him for the 10 allowed games and re-evaluate him then, but I guess the emergance of Shirokov allowed them to make a decision. Really sucks for Hodgson though as most people had him as a lock on the team!

Junior aged player making their NHL teams has really been a phenomenon of the last few years. I don't think any of us should be shocked that Hodgson (or anyone else his age) gets sent back.

What does he bring to Vancouver THIS year? Not enough (IMO) to burn the first year of team control. He's not going to make their top two lines, and they have plenty of others who can play on the bottom two just fine.
