Poem by Chrisky1
Children of the other god
Veil of truth a translucent shade,
Veins welcome to invade.
Shattered lives the after-math,
They know the road but not the path.
Time their enemy, entices repeats,
Tracks they leave as vessel retreats.
The children of the other god do fail,
While riding the pale horses trail.
Filling the need, to satisfy the craving,
Reaching for the cure, no lives they're saving.
Living the tempters, lies and illusions,
The children of the other god’s delusion.
Children of the street with the unquenchable need,
Keeping track of the fruit and planting the seed.
The children, of the children cry and plead,
Born with the remnants of the lives, They lead.
In systematic remedy of paradise sought,
Manna the pill the other god has brought.
Contaminated blood to fill their heart,
As with reality they will depart.
They stand on the corner no hope in their eyes,
Hiding in the shadows donning their disquise.
Reaching into pockets for dollars to exchange,
Searching the streets a deal to arrange.
Like zombies they lurk in a hopeless mix,
Black eyes of emptiness yearn for the fix.
The god delivers as the children weep
The other god wins their soul to keep
Life once full of love and ambition,
Falls for the high that ends in addiction.
Now shadows of souls spoiled by the rod,
They are but children of the other god.
