    Ebay win?

I believe i posted a little while ago that i won a steve mason 07-08 itg superlative jsy auto /50 for $10. very good buy IMO and i paid for it on the 28th of August. a couple weeks go by and nothing so i decide to remind him about it and he says he forgot that i paid for it and shipped it out on the 14th (sep.) alright here we go, ready to receive it....still haven't gotten it yet, plus he's from pennsylvania and i'm from ny so there shouldn't be that much of a delay in shipping.

i messaged him a few more times and he gets back to me yesterday saying that even though he sent it out, he will give me a refund, in which he did. so in the end it's alright except for the fact that i had a deal for a really nice callahan patch auto that i probably won't get now...

but my question is, do u think people keep certain cards if they don't think it sold high enough? even though it only books for $40, it's a steve mason jsy auto, he probably thought he would get around $20 for it, also adding that this was the only one listed. i don't think there was a shipping error cause if i shipped a couple weeks late, i would make sure i do everything perfect so it has the best chance of reaching the buyer. plus, what are the real consequences if he does keep it? i probably won't leave negative feedback cause he gave me the refund, he can relist it and maybe get twice as much as i paid for it.

i was just wondering if anyone else had this happen or maybe had an opinion on this? sorry for the long read lol.

If he relists it, I'd raise a stink with eBay..... but I don't think you can give him a negative. Neutral maybe "never received card, seller gave me a refund" but that's as low as I'd go.

yep, this happens, I won a rare auto patch/10 of Bobby Hull from the cup 06/07 I think, won it for $10.50. didn't receive it the seller was from eastern canada, I got my money back but the kicker was about 2 months later it was relisted on his E-Bay, and it sold for aorund $40U.S, I think if people want a certain price then do a reserve or a BIN option.

I usually have them cancelling the auction in the last 6 hrs or something. A few items I had way over bid what was high, but no one else bid me up.

i probably wont leave feedback at all actually, but yea since he gave me the refund, neutral would be the lowest if i did do it.

I got my one & only negative from the same sort of deal.

although it wasnt a hockey card, it was a book.

I never sold any books & had no idea what shipping would be?

I guessed at it & listed it at 4.00 for s/h & the auction started at .99 cents.

someone won it, I left her great feedback,
she paid right away & next day I went to ship it & find out,
    it was 7.55 to ship.

So, I thought, why would I want to PAY someone to take a book from me?
I would have had to pay about $3.50 dollars to mail a book to someone!!

I didnt do it, I went home, told her the story, said I am sorry & refunded her $4.99, no problems, she agreed, that was the end.

2 weeks later I got my first (& only!!) NEGATIVE Feedback!!
I begged & pleaded with her to retract, no replies...
I tried a couple dastardly deeds, nothing....

So, apparently, you can leave negative feedback, even though the money
    was refunded.

I do negatives in those situations, the seller has the option of setting a reserve or using the BIN/BO option.

Wow, I'm glad that's never happened to me (knock on wood). I think I'd be disappointed, but I don't think my initial reaction would be that someone is trying to retract their sale. Things get lost in the mail and if you think of it from his point of view, in the end he ended up with nothing either (no money & no card).

Now, if he reposts this card... Then I'd be upset big time!
