Do you honestly want someone with Sergei's attitude on your team though?

I'm going to use two Leafs players as examples of how you handle this sort of situation: Nazem Kadri and Tyler Bozak. Both ended up playing very well in the preseason, obviously have talent, but didn't get a spot on the team.

Did they throw a hissy fit and not report? No. In Kadri's case he showed a lot of maturity and went to London looking to have a knockout season. Bozak has reported to the Marlies without a whimper, knowing full well he'll be one of, if the not the first to be called up when needed. Bobby Ryan is an example that isn't related to the Leafs. He wasn't happy with being sent down due to cap issues, but he did what he was told...and look where he is now. On the top line with Getzlaf and Perry.

Kostitsyn, to me, seems to be more about himself than he is about the organization he plays for. It's a shame to lose that kind of a talented player, but it's not a shame to lose that kind of poor attitude.

Yes, I called my agent right away to tell him I wouldn't go there.

My agent supported me right away, because he understood that I shouldn't be playing for the [farm] club. And they agreed with me that I should be traded right away.

Of course he supported you, because all he understood was the more money you make the more he makes.

I was never a fan of this kid, but I did think he had potential and after this fiasco I have lost all respect for him. Man up, go where the team tells you to go, and come back even stronger.

He's suspended and has demanded a trade. I'm pretty sure Jacques Martin isn't salivating to bring him on board, even before this little fiasco. He will never again play in a Canadiens uniform.

This Sergei Kostitsyn kid is a cancer. I highly doubt any team will want him. If he just went to the minors and played really well he would have been the 1st call up but he has just messed up his NHL career along with Ilya Zubov in Ottawa. These young guys are on 2 way deals and don't have to clear waivers yet so they can be sent up and down. Once injuries happen they would get their chances but not anymore.
