Hendrick and NASCAR
I'm sure most everyone has read or seen the report on the #'s 48 and 5 "pushing" the envelope again. Ok, so what was the problem, NASCAR? Did they cheat or not? If not, which is evidently what happened, then why even issue a statement or comment on those cars being close on inspection. If you inspected all 43 cars I'm quite sure there would have been several close to the tolerances (maybe even the 24 and 88). Although I'm not a fan of the chase format, it's been good so far and all NASCAR has done here is created suspicion over anything these two cars do for the rest of the playoffs. Close is not cheating; maybe NASCAR should think twice before sticking their foot in their mouths.

Nascar was just trying to help them-they had the tolerances so close if any official or something rediculously small during the race affected the car-there would be major penalties-Nascar doesnt want to decide the championship on points penalties-they just suggested to Hendrick to maybe not push it so close-of course they will though-they are better than everyone else by a mile for a reason.

i think brian vickers said it the best. He said the Nascar gives you a box to work with and Hendrick MS uses the WHOLE box and if you dont then shame on you. It's just one of many reasons Hendrick has been so dominate. Cant blame them.

Exactly....they 'almost cheated.' I can't even understand why this was made public.
Do you get an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in football for 'almost' hitting somebody late? No....people are acting like Hendrick was caught cheating, when it's not the case...and I love how everyone's attacking Chad about this--first off, he wasn't cheating. Secondly, why isn't anyone talking about Gustafson? They said that the 48 AND the 5 were close...
