Any musicians on here?
I thought it would be interesting to see who all plays an instrument or sings on here. It doesn't matter if you play in a school band, learned guitar on your own, or have a full time gig as a musician.
I play the trombone and electric bass. I used to be hot stuff on piano, but haven't played much since high school. I got my degree in music ed. and I play for my church, a new symphony orchestra in Fort Worth, and whatever gigs get thrown my way.
How about you? What do you play and what do you do with it?

Im a musician, my main instrument is drums/percussion. Playing since 88-89, last cpl yrs have dabbled in bass, piano. I have a beginners knowledge of mixing-production but nothing that can help anyone if I was asked a question of it.
Within the last few yrs, Ive strayed away from being a full time bands to now getting picked up in jam sessions or cover bands stuff. Anything trippy to heavy is what im mostly into but will try other forms. Just having fun with it right now but do have that itch to getting into something lasting again. Maybe sometime next yr, who knows.

I've played guitar for a number of years - own a couple. Sadly my musical endeavours over the last year have been much more focused on Guitar Hero. If only I practiced a real instrument as much as I do that game...

Haha, I know tons of people like that. They are masters of guitar hero, but won't put in the time on the real instrument. Although, I think it still helps in a way with the rhythm part.

I play trumpet in an orchestra and sometimes I play keyboard.
I began to make music in 1996.

I used to play the trombone back in middle/high school, and I took piano lessons for about 6 years. However, I'm pretty sure the ability I had in both are gone now, although I can still play a few songs on the piano (mainly Beatles songs).

Yeah, it will go away on you if you don't do it. Especially with trombone. All those facial muscles have to be constantly fine tuned to make a pleasant sound.

What kind of orchestra? Community/volunteer or professional?

I don´t play professional. We play two concerts in the year and many gigs in our town.
What kind of orchestra? Good question. I don´t know the word in english. Maybe you can help me. It´s not a brass band and not a synphonic orchestra.
