    Paul Molitor TTM

A few weeks ago I sent Paul Molitor c/o the Twins. I see others have received him in the past and others are with me hopefully in the inbox.

I notice that it seems he gets a good pile going and then signs. As somebody relatively new to the hobby I am just curious what his signing schedule usually is and if our chances are helped/hindered by the Twins season ending soon, regardless how they fare, considering the whole stadium deal.

Thanks for any input or opinions you can provide me. I am a huge fan and would be really disappointed to have missed out on getting such an awesome return.

I sent to him in spring training a couple of years back, and didn't receive it until well after the season.

These are my Molitor returns. Here are my wait times for him:

    41 days - 8/28/09
    45 days - 7/27/09
    137 days - 7/10/09
    152 days - 6/24/09
    13 days - 6/11/09
18 days - 4/11/09 - This one sent to ST address.

I'm guessing that he'll sign a bunch as soon as the season ends.

Why do you need to send to him 6 times? If you have him once that is enough. Then other people that want him might not get him now! That's just selfish!

Not that I need to defend myself, but this common misconception needs to be addressed from time to time for newer collectors. A player like Molitor probably receives hundreds of items a month in the offseason and probably that much per week during the regular season. He's also been a great signer for years. My 6 autograph requests most likely aren't going to be the ones that tip the scales and cause him to give up signing. And, if somehow they are, then that's also a part of the hobby. Guys start and stop signing all the time.

My collection isn't simply about collecting one autograph from each player or HOFer. My collection has changed over the years, so I may send out to the same players multiple times. I've sent players balls, individual 8x10s, team-signed 8x10s, customs, licensed cards, photos I've taken, jerseys, caps, etc. It's fun to add bigger names to these micro-collections of mine each time. Each time I make a new custom design, I always like to include Doerr and Snider. Having those HOFers in my custom sets make them more special for me.
