It's in rural Oregon. Not a private school--public elementary.

But since I'm a kid (15) I guess you shouldn't take my post seriously since my views don't matter...

Semicolons, elipses, and contractions? You're quite a mature 15 year-old! My mouth was just as big when I was 15 as it is now. I'm sure you're intelligent enough to formulate your own opinion on issues--keep it up, buddy!

Thanks. I was referring to the poster before me who stated that opinions of kids don't matter.

Yeah, I saw that. The good thing about talking is having a voice, just keep that in mind!

It's not what you are saying; it's the fact that from an early age many kids are being brainwashed to think in a certain way. Their strategy is to get them at an early age so by the time they are adults and when their views do matter, their views are immovable because they were taught them, almost like doctrine, for many years before they were able to think for themselves. But since I'm a kid (15) I guess you shouldn't take my post seriously since my views don't matter...

Well thanks for taking things out of context and blasting me on it... This thread is about 7 year old kids, thus, I know it's hard to follow, I was referring to 7 year olds when I said kids. But thanks for making that incorrect assumption...you know what assuming does right?

Now that we're past that, I agree with the real point of your post. Kids (read: 7 year olds and similar ages) shouldn't even know what abortion is. They shouldn't be taught about those kind of things in any way. I have no problem with parents passing on their values and beliefs, that's kind of what they're supposed to do, but certain things need to wait until a later age.

This board is flooded with accusations of leftist propaganda, and it's getting old. Well, today I experienced a bit of propaganda meself:

A few weeks ago, my girlfriend drive by a billboard here in town. On it is a picture drawn and colored by a child (I don't want to disclose his name, but he was 7 years old). My girlfriend recognizes the name as the brother of her friend. She bumps into the friend the other day, and asks about the billboard. Long story short, a group of activists came to the school, preached about anti-abortion garbage, gave the students some statistics, and asked them to each color a picture from the statistics. Apparently each student was directed throughout the entire ordeal.

Now, my girlfriend and I aren't a fan of abortion either, but this is ridiculous--FAR worse than singing a song about a now-historical figure.

From what I gather, this is causing community uproar (and we live in a mildly-conservative town); we'll see where this goes.

just a question, do you have the name of the Activist group. I am totally against this (just to be on record) but I wonder about a public school giving access to an activist group. would like some more info on the group if you can find it please.
