Do you send a pen/sharpie with your TTMs?
Hi Everyone,
Wanted to get your help with this. I typically send a pen out with my baseballs and a sharpie with my 8x10's. I don't have a problem doing this and am more than happy to send them but if I could cut out sending the sharpies I could save a few bucks (In postage too). Do you guys send out a pen or sharpie with your items? I figure you guys with the cards probably don't but what about everyone else? I'm sure these guys have sharpies laying around to sign our items with. What do you think? I'll thank you in advance for your help.

I don't send a pen or sharpie out unless the person I send to is known to use a biro pen and I want him to use a sharpie instead.

I never send one as I am happy with any signature on my item pen, sharpie or any permanent marker if that. I would send my own pen if i sent a baseball though,...

i always send a ink pen sharpie silver for pucks but that only time i do

Since I collect HOF signed baseballs I always send a blue bic because from everything I read its the best, every signing I have been to thats the pen they use, and it gives my collection a uniform look. Its also always funny just to see who keeps the pen and who returns it.
The oddest return I ever received was my second Stan Musial failure. I received my SASE with the new style unsigned postcard, my $50, unsigned ROMLB, and the pen outside of the zip lock baggy I zip it in to prevent leaking or anything.. The baggy was in there but sealed shut with the pen outside. Makes me wonder if he pulled it and changed his mind.
The only ball I have received signed in anything but my typically enclosed bic was from Lee MacPhail. Looks like he signed with a skinny blue sharpie.Last edited by Sawks14; 10-12-2009 at 01:12 PM.

im fairly new to the hobby, but i dont send out any pens or markers...like SMV said, im happy with any signature i get...its just for my personal collection, so they could sign it in pink highlighter for all i care haha

I send a blue BIC pen with every ROMLB that I send out. I don't want them using a sharpie on an expensive ball and I kindly ask them to use my pen in my letter. With my cards, CICs or 8x10s, I let them sign it with whatever they are kind enough to sign with. By the way, the only pen that has been returned from all the ROMLBs sent out is from Dick "Ducky" Schofield. I think most players like my "BIC Ultra Round Stic Grip", which is a very small price to pay.
One of my coolest things signed was my Dad's George Kell glove. Mr. Kell signed it prior to his unfortunate death with a sliver sharpie that I included (he kept the sharpie). He signed it twice (on the thumb part and on pinkie finger part).Last edited by lizard-jd; 10-12-2009 at 03:34 PM.

Same here, ALWAYS send a "BIC Ultra Round Stic Grip" blue ink fine tip pen with ROMLB.
90% of the time I don't received the pen back but figure this is part of the cost of getting the auto.

8 x 10 TTM, how do you guys pack it for mailing

how do you guys pack it for mailing?
Do you include a blue sharpie?
What kind of envelope do you send and include for the return SESA?

I put a standard 8x10 envelope ( I think it is 9 x 11) with a cardboard insert inside of a 11x14 envelope. I don't send sharpies with these either...
