ACA Grading - new holder - it looks a nice holder design - opinions?

Just heard a publicity on CKAC radio (in French) about a new grading service, ACA Grading, with a new kind of holder, see on:

    http://www.acagrading.com/en/grading/cardGrading.htm

Sounds a great holder! I am not a fan of grading, but the holder sounds really nice. Anybody saw this kind/design of holder before? Does it fit cards like the Dual NHL Shields Auto 1/1 cards (around 250pt. thickness)? I will have to check it at the Montreal Card Show (Centre Pierre-Charbonneau). Maybe KSA is gone, and the guys decided to start a fresh new company wih a fresh new product.

    Opinions? Anybody knows about it?

    This part worries me:
"3- Protection of the object certified
A hologram respecting safety standards is affixed to the object and invisible ink with "ACA Grading certified / certified" is affixed. This ink may be visible only under UV light. When someone tries to pull or even wash the reference to a mark detectable UV is found and makes the object invalid. "

Long term affects of ink? Interesting concept, but I won't try it out with my cards.

    Cheers,

interesting. while i don't necessarily care for their grading standards, those cases do look diesel though. i'm wondering what the build quality is like too.

This seems to be for autograph authentication, as opposed to trading card grading. Id assume they wouldnt put this mark on a card, but it should be verified.

I agree with your concern on the long term.

Thumbs up Martin Brouillard owner ACA Grading

    Hi guys !

My name is Martin Brouillard and I wanted to answer all of your questions about the new and improved cover from Quebec designer. The production is also all Canadian nothing involve with China !

Our case is in Polycarbonate (hockey visor protector) and design to welcome cards from 18 pt to over 220 pt such as card pack and ticker cards on the market. The stiker will be done in 4 colors:

    gold for vintage card
    silver mate for patch
    silver for ordinary card size
    mirror for pack card

We instore functional database free and 24 hours accesible via internet. Population report will come this winter and another database with selling data from our product will be done !

This spring, an hall of fame will be instore for the biggest collection graded. We annonce you in exclusivity for the people from sportcard forum we're gonna grade the exclusive RC patch auto Sidney Crosby The Cup 2005-06 87/99 for the first card of our young existence !
To answer about the invisible ink, no cards will be mark with the invisible ink, only object such as jersey, glove and autograph authentication from paper and other. The mean reason is the card will be insert in the plastic protector. Will we appose an hologram inside the case and NOT ON THE CARD ! Integrity of the card is so important !

See all of you to the Pierre-Charbonneau center in the salon international du Collectioneur from the 23rd to 25 for the show. At 18h00 to 19h00 an happening will be in place to show our services. Everybody is welcome !

    little story about the cover

We process to the plastic join and after that was done, the guy for the logo ambose ask me to crack the cover to see inside of it, I was so surprise to see with an exacto I can't did it !!!!

just a short and nice story about our new case !!!

Martin Brouillard? Are you also the owner of KSA Montréal?

I was wondering if you offer a service similar to James Spence Authentification-Beckett?

    Hi !
Yes in fact we injected over 40000$ investment in the mould to provide the best cover in the market. We have nothing but nothing in common with the case from KSA. In fact we have nothing in common with them.

Thank you guys for your interest toward us !
