    Shocker: Detroit Shock moving?

Just saw on the ESPN scroll that a Detroit Shock team official has said that the Detroit Shock will relocate to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the AP has confirmed this. This is major news, considering the Shock have been WNBA champions 3 out of the last 7 seasons.

Wow I would have never expected this. They are a great team, but it is hard to have a sports franchise in Detroit these days....

Detroit has 25% unemployment last I heard, so I am actually not surprised.

I am thrilled they are moving to Tulsa, though! I can perhaps see my first WNBA game live soon!

The NBA team is the Thunder - and chance the Shock change their name to the Lightning?

Yep, the unemployment rate is at 25% right now and getting worse, this isnt just effecting the womens team but also the mens, Pistons lost 50% of there season ticket holders from last season, you use to not be able to find seats, not they'll be lucky to sellout one game this season...

Back on topic, i have no feelings, i never watched the Shock and thought the team was boring, so...

I've always kid that the Detroit Lions won't start winning until they move to Oklahoma. But didn't see the Shocks moving there before them. They've been one of the more successful WNBA franchises over the year, but due to Michigan's faltering economy, probably had no choice but to move out to somewhere else where the economy doesn't fall in the hands of the big three automobile makers.

Everytime I see a story about the WNBA, I only think about Kevin Durant....

"I hope that I make enough money in my lifetime to buy the WNBA and SHUT IT DOWN!!! OMG every time I go to one of those games I try to start a "BOR-ING" chant. I mean seriously, I would dunk in every single one of their FACES!!! Diana Taurasi I would BLOCK YO SHOT SO HARD!!!"

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, google search KellerThrows The Life and Times of K-Smoove and click on the first link...
