    High end buying decision

I am enough funds to get one of these cards.

    1. Peter Mueller the cup rookie (2 clr)
    2. Jaroslav Halak the cup rookie (3clr)
    3. Cam Ward the cup rookie (1 clr)
    4. T.J. Oshie the cup rookie (1 clr)
    5. Claude Giroux the cup rookie (2 clr)

I like them all, but unforunately can only get one. Not sure which is the most worth it. Please give me you opinions on it. Thanks alot!

Of those, I'd go with the Ward. Stanley Cup winner, regular goalie for Team Canada. Very under-appreciated hobby-wise due to the fact he plays for Carolina.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

i ditto cam ward. he has proven so much in his short career so far. this is the way i break it down:

    1. Peter Mueller the cup rookie (2 clr)--playing in the desert hurts a lot. he has declined since his rookie year.
    2. Jaroslav Halak the cup rookie (3clr)--is a great goalie but carey price is beloved in montreal and halak will need to be traded to see his worth. plus rookie patch cards seem to lower in value if one another team in my books.
    3. Cam Ward the cup rookie (1 clr)--won a cup and should be on canada at the olympics. his cards are massively under priced.
    4. T.J. Oshie the cup rookie (1 clr)--best all round player here but one colour just hurts.
    5. Claude Giroux the cup rookie (2 clr)--great offensive potential but i still feel that carter and richards will get the hobby love in philly over him.

Thanks for the advice! Another underrated guy I have an eye one is james neal. His cup rookie seems to be going for low and is play on ice is increasing. Kyle Okposo is another guy that will rise because of John Tavares, but being on the island might kill it.

Are "the cup" single color patches reallly looked down upon?

i would say that single colour patches are really looked down upon. i know that i do not like them one bit. they just have very little appeal to me compaired to multi-coloured ones.

but also think of it this way. the oshie and giroux are from last years product and you still see tins being broken on here all the time. mueller and halak are both from last year so they will be a little more rare. just less in circulation. now the ward is from four years ago so that card will be a lot more rare to find. that is just the way that i look at it.
