I don't think it's an error. It clearly states that it is a peice of a bat used by Komiyama. It however does not state that it was used in an official major league game. Therefore, it is very possibly a piece from a spring training bat.

it is not the bat piece thats the error it is the diecut look at the bottom right corner of the bat piece there is some cardboard left behind that didnt get die cut right i ahve confirmed with beckett and psa that it is rare for a gu or auto to have gone thru extra inspections to pass thru with this type of defect so it is an error thank you

Don't get so defensive. That just makes it a card that did not get cut all the way, not an error. Does not add to the value.

    BTW, is it FT/FS?

We'll all meet in the middle...it's a manufacturing defect or error...however you want to put it. Still it's a cool card, but I never heard of Komiyama...it's weird seeing Jeter on the reverse side of a card of someone who's not too well known

Uhhh...Komiyama is on the Mets which means he could bat since he's in the National League. It's a Yankees/Mets insert (New York's Finest). In fact he has a batting average of .000 and had one at bat in the majors before being sent back down to the minors. His one illustrious at bat was in 2002. I guess that must be a chip of the bat he used in that one at bat unless it's one he used in batting practice or spring training
