CHIT-CHAT FF: Week 7 Wrap
WEEK 7 WRAP
Half the games were very close this week, being decided by 9 points or fewer, and the other half were blowouts, none decided by less than 21. And two of the games came down to nail-biters on MNF...this is what fantasy football is all about girls!
Recap of the Match ups
• PABS!!! @ Novacaine - The Holy Rollers won't mention the fact that PABS had to start Marc Bulger and Tashard Choice thanks to bye weeks...a win is a win! Aaron Rodgers and the Jets D/ST carries the Novacaine past the Slaps.
Dwarves @ Hellbillies - One of the barn burners of the week, this game came down to DeSean Jackson having to post a huge game on MNF to bring the Dwarves back. He did have a huge game, 136 total yards and 2 TDs, but it wasn't huge enough, leaving the Hellbillies up 4 after the final snap. Don't look now, but the Hellbillies have won three in a row and are quickly working their way back into the thick of things.
Blunts @ That Thing - Our last winless team has finally notched their first V. Carson Palmer brings home the QB of the Week trophy for the Blunts, but it wasn't enough to overcome solid play all around by Ric Flair, led by another monster performance from Miles Austin...looks like we may have the #1 candidate for the Best Waiver Wire Pickup award!
Ramrod @ TRUCKERS - Team Ramrod played the wrong Dolphin RB, left the most points on the bench of any team this week, and I had to choose between his two goose eggs (Ward and Washington) for the Worst Start of the Week trophy, yet still finds a way to pull out the win...and handily. When the Bills D/ST and Lee Evans are your high scorers, you know it's not going to be a good week.
Pillagers @ Stratusfaction - The closest game of the week, owners Kevin and Jesse were pacing and cursing all game during MNF. At kickoff, the score was 85-67 Pillagers. But after a pick 6 and a FF, that lead disappeared real fast. Portis was giving the Pope no help and LA took the lead, but the last Was TD pulled them back and the Pillagers claim the victory by 1 point. The Pope has whipped his team into shape and they're on a four game winning streak.
'Horns @ Victors - This was no barn burner...maybe a bra burner. David Akers tried his best, but he couldn't overcome the 81 point deficit the 'Horns were in during MNF. His consolation prize: Worst Loss of the Week.

Three in a row! What sucks is I haven't made up any ground in the division. Mitch & Kevin have both won four in a row. Well, at least I'm not last anymore.
Have two of my stars and main defense on bye for week 8 matchup. This week will be a tough one. Going to need a big game out of Peyton and Peterson.

4 in a row! After an 0-3 start I gave a speech in the locker room similar to that of the movie Rudy.

Got a question for everybody. I was looking over candidates for the Best Waiver Pickup and came across an issue I wanted opinions on.
First, to qualify, the player had to go undrafted. For example, Ash picked up McNabb when someone was smart enough to drop him...that doesn't count because he was drafted, rather high actually, and was let go for roster space (I assume). I'm looking for a nobody that was un-drafted, but has emerged and someone picked them up relatively early.
The way I'm measuring which pickups rank ahead of others is by getting the total points scored after the player was picked up. I'll use Ash again as the example because it's the first one that came to mind. Massaquoi scored 14 points in week 4, but Ash picked him up on 10/8, after week 4, so those 14 points don't count toward this.
Now, the question. I'm debating on whether the player has to still be on the team's roster that picked him up or if a use them and dump them situation should count. Example: someone picks up a fill-in for a couple of weeks, they do good, but they drop them after 3 weeks...they're not on the roster any more. So should the points they scored while they were on the team be counted towards this or should it be limited to players who were picked up and are still on the team today?
