Pau Gasol May Be Out 6 Weeks (Kobe May Be Out Tonight)
It looks like the injury bug is hitting the Lakers early. But I'll rather have these injuries early in the season, rather then later in the season.
Here's the latest on Pau Gasol's hamstring Injury:
Although Jackson continues to insist he’s not worried about Gasol’s injury, for the first time he spoke with some urgency in his voice. Jackson said the initial diagnosis suggested that it would take six weeks for Gasol’s hamstring to fully heal, but the Lakers cannot afford to wait another three weeks to get their big man back.
The injury was originally diagnosed 3 weeks ago, so if it does take the full 6 weeks to recover, then he'll just be out for 3 more weeks from now.
I think he should take us much time as he can, we don't want this injury to creep up on us later in the season.
Here are more details on the injury: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/spor...hamstring.html
Kobe is also suffering from flu-like symptoms and is questionable for tonight:
Kobe is a little sick and is listed as “questionable” for tonight…
Lakers Basketblog: Lakers spokesman John Black confirmed that Kobe Bryant has a fever and a sore throat, and is listed as “questionable” for tonight’s game against Oklahoma City.
As for Phil, he had this to say about Kobe playing when he is sick…
Twitter: Phil Jackson: “He usually does.”

I heard about Kobe on SportsCenter today...that's too bad about Gasol though...hope he fully recovers, for the Lakers sake, sooner rather than later.

Well, Kobe's playing tonight - started the game, played the entire first quarter, and scored 12 points on 3/5 shooting...
