Maple Leafs expecting Kessel debut vs. Lightning
All signs are pointing to Phil Kessel making his highly anticipated debut in blue and white Tuesday night when Toronto hosts Tampa Bay at 7:30 p.m.
Kessel, acquired from Boston in September for two first-round picks and a second-rounder, skated on a line in Monday's practice. The team is expected to announce that he will be in the lineup following their morning skate.

I activated him from my IR. I'm so torn on how I think he will play in Toronto, of course I am not expecting 36 goals, but he just does not have the talent he had around him in Boston.

Thank goodness the team started playing better. If the Leafs were still losing, Kessel would be going into tonight's game with a lot more pressure (not that he doesn't have any now).

Well the Leafs definitely can use him. Of course you can't expect him to be a one man savior.

10 shots! I don't remember the last time any one player had 10 SOG. I wasn't able to watch the game. Were they good shots or bad shots?

I was at last nights game. He played very well. He got rocked by Ohlund when he skated down with his head down. He was back out next shift though and ALSO YES ALSO he ADMITTED it was his fault skating with his head down (its good to hear him take responsibility).
His 10 shots were all great scoring chances mostly on our Powerplay. He hit the post and Nittimayki (Spelling?) played an outstanding game. Phil could have easily potted 2 goals.
It was nice to see a buzz in the crowd (for all the real fans in attendance and not the yuppie corporates playing with their blackberries) when ever Phil skated down the ice. Overall it was a good game.
Same luck though no one scored on our 46 shots and like 8 powerplays. Once they start converting on some of these chances i think the confidence factor will go up.
