Dollar Tree Packs
Hello! I have been out of the hobby for nearly three years and I have a question that maybe you can answer! I went into Dollar Tree the other day and saw that they were selling sports card packs for a dollar. I collect football so i bought 5 packs from five different sets. I noticed that on the back of the packs there was a PANINI logo which i have seen on this site before. I got base of some of my favorite players and a couple cool unnumbered inserts and just the joy of opening packs is worth money, but I was wondering: Do you think there is even the smallest chance to pull anything like an auto or GU? And what is the scoop on Panini?

I would say 99% chance you won't :P I saw them and bought 5 or 6 packs and got a couple nice non-numbered inserts also, but no real hits.

They have them here also. Almost all football and basketball but the chance of getting an auto or gu is probably pretty slim. I bought a couple of baseball packs but nothing of importance.

Welcome back to the hobby!
Are the packs at Dollar Tree the same as packs you'd find at Walmart/Target? Anyone know? I may have to hit up my Dollar Tree and see if they have anything...

Yes, same as the Wal-Mart. Just a bunch of loose retail packs.
Ok, cool...I may have to check it out...I think the Panini packs are supposed to be $2 each, so if they are at a dollar store, then maybe they are half price? Or maybe they are like Topps basketball from a few years ago, and have half the amount of cards as the regular retail packs...either way, I'm checking it out!
Oh, and sorry jackirkh...not meaning to overtake your thread! :-)

You can't expect anything special out of loose $1 packs. Most of these are retail to begin with and the reason they put these out so cheap is because there is nothing in them. But you never know, I once pulled something out of a rack pack.
